QGel® Assay Kits are dimensioned to be compatible with standard laboratory automation systems. Caps can be removed robotically or manually depending on your assay.

Contains no cells
You only add your cell solution at the start of your assay. Each well of the QGel® Assay Kit is filled with a lyophilized powder. Kit shelf-life is 5-years at -20°C.

Barcode for tracking
High-throughput requires good tracking capabilities. Each QGel® Assay Kit has a unique reference to keep track of your automated screens.

GMP quality
QGel® Assay Kits are batch-manufactured to meet either GLP or GMP specifications in quantities that suit the needs of your screening application.

QGel® Assay Kits are designed to be compatible with standard laboratory automation systems, but if you prefer, our kits can also be used with manual pipetting techniques.

As a general rule, any method you use for your cell-based assays today are compatible with QGel. If you need help, QGel scientists will help you get it right the first time.

Ready your cells
Prepare a cell solution with the right density of cells in a reservoir of choice. This cell solution will be added to the QGel® Assay Kit.

Add cells to QGel® Assay Kit
To start encapsulation, add the cell solution to the freeze-dried QGel powder. Your liquid handling robot will then dispense the liquid cell-QGel mixture to the assay plates before it hardens. This cell-QGel mixture hardens into a gel after a few minutes.

Encapsulate cells in Assay Plates
After dispensing the liquid cell-QGel mixture into the assay plates, the solution hardens into a gel and encapsulates the cells. Media-changes, drug testing and readouts can now be done at different timepoints.
