CANCER CELL LINE MODELS

Many validated assays have been developed at QGel based on commercially available cell-lines, engineered cell-lines, patient-derived xenografts and primary cells for many different cancers.

PATIENT DERIVED MODELS

Patient-derived cells are more complex to model than cell-lines but play an increasingly important role in advanced drug development campaigns. Primary cells also hold great promise for applications in diagnostics and personalized healthcare.

In collaboration with hospitals and cancer research centers, QGel identifies ECMs that allow for the culture of primary cells and ORGANOIDS in vitro. For more information on these assays, contact us.

Clinic. A cancer tumor is a complex organ and are made of multiple cell types and components.

QGel. custom-designed microenvironments are miniaturized and require minimal primary cell material. This allows for good in vitro productivity with limited patient material.

IN VIVO MODELS

It is estimated that 20%-30% of cancer cell lines are shown to be difficult to grow in animal models. Patient derived cells can also be difficult to take in animal models.

QGel can be used to ‘kick-start’ spheroid growth in gel discs outside of the animal. At the optimum time point, the gel disc containing the growing tumors is implanted into the animal subcutaneously or orthotopically to greatly improve the chance that they will continue to grow in the animal.
