Many validated assays have been developed at QGel based on commercially available cell-lines, engineered cell-lines, patient-derived xenografts and primary cells for many different cancers.
Please contact us and we will let you know which QGel® Assay Kit best corresponds to the models, targets or the physiological features that you are looking for.
Patient-derived cells are more complex to model than cell-lines but play an increasingly important role in advanced drug development campaigns. Primary cells also hold great promise for applications in diagnostics and personalized healthcare.
In collaboration with hospitals and cancer research centers, QGel identifies ECMs that allow for the culture of primary cells and ORGANOIDS in vitro. For more information on these assays, contact us.
Clinic. A cancer tumor is a complex organ and are made of multiple cell types and components.
QGel. custom-designed microenvironments are miniaturized and require minimal primary cell material. This allows for good in vitro productivity with limited patient material.
It is estimated that 20%-30% of cancer cell lines are shown to be difficult to grow in animal models. Patient derived cells can also be difficult to take in animal models.
QGel can be used to ‘kick-start’ spheroid growth in gel discs outside of the animal. At the optimum time point, the gel disc containing the growing tumors is implanted into the animal subcutaneously or orthotopically to greatly improve the chance that they will continue to grow in the animal.
Contact us for help in designing studies using QGel to improve the success of your animal model. We have a variety of existing formulations and protocols ready to use.
PRE-GROW cancer spheroids in vitro to optimal size (pre-grown 7-24 days depending on cell type).
IMPLANT gel discs into animal to increase chance that tumor ‘takes’.
Solving industry problems is QGel’s aim and we only develop assays that have a direct industrial need. In other words, assays developed by QGel are client-driven and are designed specifically to solve an industrial problem in drug development for a specific drug or target.
If you are struggling to see in vivo effects in vitro, or if you would like to see specific physiological features of a disease to accelerate the development of your pipeline compounds, contact us. QGel’s technology may be the solution you are looking for.
